Description
Manufactured by the legendary Remington Arms Company, this product is brand new, brass-cased, boxer-primed, non-corrosive, and reloadable. It is a staple range and target practice ammunition used by many law enforcement agencies and avid shooters.
This Remington UMC 223 Rem cartridge’s CTFB is a bit more unusual, but it’s equally well suited to your target shootin’ needs.
CTFB stands for “closed tip flat base.” Once the bullet’s jacket was created, it was filled with hot lead. The CTFB’s tiny nose cavity therefore only denotes its uniform and balanced core – it is not able to undergo terminal expansion. Like its form-fitted core, the CTFB’s flat base is an accuracy enhancing feature. The product of ignition is more consistent when exploding powder has a flat, level surface to shove through the barrel.
This round’s bullet weighs 62 grains and achieves 3,100 fps muzzle velocity. Alongside its profile, those qualities cause the CTFB to deliver extremely similar performance to Remington’s 223 Rem 62gr Core-Lokt SP load. That makes this ammo a more economical solution for training with that particular type of hunting ammo. But even if you don’t give a fig about Core-Lokt bullets, Remington’s brass-cased, reloadable and reliable range ammo satisfies.
